Digital Painting: How to draw Fire

     Hey everyone. This is going to be unique tutorial in its own way. We shall be discussing of creating fire in Photoshop. Because I am good at Photoshop. Well Let's get to the topic. And apologies for any mistake in my English.

     This section is divided into multiple steps as to create fire from the beginning to getting into the detailed version of it. Before that, get a bucket full of water if your window gets fire. :)


Step-1:-
     Always the first step is to think of the flame or fire your going to paint digitally. I mostly draw fires that burns slowly. Create a document of your own width and height. I would suggest only to go for 800 * 600 of resolution. Because we are learning the base for it. Now depending on the color of fire we are going to use respective colors. If you love fantasies, you would definitely like to draw unreal fires of your own. Otherwise just go for yellow and red. Now we are going to first create a small and random shape. And smudge it to get the fire type effect.
     First to understand it, we are going to draw a small but thick dot. And use the smudge tool with higher strength like 85 or plus. Make sure its hardness is very low. Put it closer to the dot but not touch it ( like the image file ) and drag it to form a wavy look of fire.

    Good, lets move to the next step.

Step-2:-

     Now as we understood the method of getting wavy look, we are going to use this method to get fire effect. Use darker red color in with medium saturation. And draw it.
